As you head to the gas pumps this weekend you may notice the price of a gallon of gas has risen drastically just in the past couple of weeks. A report from AAA came out on Friday saying the national average for a gallon of gas has kept steady at $2.81 for a week straight. But that price has jumped 21 cents within the last two months--not to mention that price is 13 cents higher than last year at this time. By summer energy analysts say the price may reach three dollars a gallon.
Drivers we talked with are worried about the price hike. Eumeka Suggs says, "It's really expensive. Like um, earlier this week it was just $2.50 something and today it's almost three dollars. It's ridiculous." According to AAA Carolinas--the average price for a gallon of gas around Greenville is $2.85. That's five cents above the national average.
